Encourage, Promote, Cultivate

The purpose of the program is to develop each student's pianistic ability and foster an appreciation for music that will be a source of lifelong fulfillment.

Students enjoy immediate success from hands-on private lessons. Proper piano technique and sight-reading skills are emphasized from the beginning.

After students master basic piano skills, using the most effective techniques for reading notes, they learn works from each of the four periods of music. They play works by such great composers as Bach, Mozart, and Chopin.

Ten monthly repertoire groups provide a group setting in which students can perform a memorized piece each month. In this comfortable, positive setting they learn to share and evaluate their playing and that of others. These group lessions are geared toward enhancing the students’ self-confidence, poise, memorization, public speaking skills, and musical growth.

Audisia Ho and Ravi Culleton
Courtney Hansill and Donna Kay Croddy

If I had to name one thing that I love about Donna Kay’s teaching, it would be her patient and positive approach with the students. She also engages the student in analyzing their own playing with comments like, “What did you like about the way you played that piece?”
